Laguna race cancelled

Next weekend's A1 Grand Prix race at Laguna Seca has been cancelled, autosport.com can reveal.
The move will be officially confirmed later today, but autosport.com understands that the decision to can the race has been taken for operational reasons.
The cancellation means that Team France have won the inaugural A1 GP title, as their tally cannot now be overhauled by nearest rivals Team Switzerland in the one remaining meeting.
Reports suggest that concerns about the safety of the Californian track have led to the A1 GP round's abandonement. But the circuit hosted a round of the American Le Mans Series, which is listed as a grade two event, as recently as October 2005.

Such a shame, I was really looking forward to this race...

Go fucking dammit! The one race that the US could have won! Brian is a god at Laguna Seca and i'm sure he would have taught all those pansies a thing or two about the Corkscrew :x Well, it would have been a fight with the IRL guys running, but that race was going to be a war of who has the biggest brass I was predicting the claiming of many racers weekends at turn 8 - 9
