shady view from the stands, eh?
if a ZR-1 was beat at the 1/4th by a civic, the civic was likely to have more invested in it then the total cost of the ZR-1, which is currently the most expensive vette when it was new. also, im guessing the vette driver was doing shitty, and may have been shitty himself
which would you rather own for the porpose of going fast... im quite sure that civic you saw was not an everyday machine, whilst the zr1 can handle it, just not much space for extras

The 95 ZR-1 stock will turn .90g on the pad. It's a great car, but you can get sooo much more for the money. New, those cars cost over $70,000 back in 1995. It was more of a milestone or important car than it was a great car.

I love the ZR-1...but DAMN was that an expensive car. It was almost $70,000 in 1995(?) when they discontinued it, when a Supra cost $50,000 and a 911 Carrera cost about $60,000. But, man, oh man, talk about an engine...wonderful car.

If offered either car, I would take the ZR-1 over the Z06 just because its so understated for its performance, and I like the ZR-1's looks over the Z06. However, if it was my money, definitely Z06, easier to mod, and work on.

I'd take the Zr1 for styling and power, the LS1 based engines don't have enough torque feeling for my taste.

I do, I drove an LS1 SS, and my brothers LT1 Z28 and the LS1 just didn't feel like it pulled as hard despite the fact that it was probably faster.

I didn't say you said my car was slow - just indicating that your opinion didn't match reality.

I don't understand how you can say my opinion doesn't match reality, its my opinion just as you have yours. Doesn't mean either one isn't as valid as the other. I drove both engines and like one over the other, theres no reason for you to get offended by it.

Not offended at all.

But to say "engine 1" feels better than "engine 2" when you drove 2 different CARS - not 2 similar cars with different engines... you are commenting on the feel of the car - the entire package - NOT the engines..

Nice try though...

But the two cars were similiar I'm not talking about the LS6 since I havn't driven one of those, but I drove an SS, and Z28, 02/97 and the LT1 felt like it pulled harder. Both Camaros, both standards. I did dive a base model Vette and it felt a bit better but not by much (auto though).
