very nice car. As 5vz-fe said, it is understandable that the owner wouldnt want to drive such a unique car, but none the less, it is still very sad that such a winderful machine isnt being used to do what it is meant to do.

Did any of you happen to look and see what the seller's other items are? Unless I'm missing something, they're all about $40 usd...hard to believe that THAT particular individual also has a CLK-GTR roadster in stock.

yah u would assume a car as rare and valueable as this would warrant a broker. specially since a musician owns this car, he doesnt have the time to drive the car let alone sell it. this seems fishy, whos he got selling this thing for him? his little cousin maybe who the fuck knows, but worth keeping an eye on, even tho its only another day and a half, and not a bid in sight so far.

It's one of Michael Jackson "house guests" That way it's not a bribe to pay the family to stay quiet... and it's not money for sex either.. -- it's money for "professional services"

Just wondering, is the the same CLK that was posted on EBAY about 1-2 years ago?

BTW, the CLK looks stunning!

If I remember correctly there where 3 flips at that Le Mans race, all CLK GTR.
Mark Webber had the first one in practice; the team said it was a freak accident and made some mods to the bodywork of the car.
Then both cars did the same in the race, at least one of them ended up going over the fence into the trees!(Dumbreck)
Have seen a few vids of same, scary as hell!
If you doubt the commitment of Webber, check these out, the guy has got balls! After the flip he got back in when the team said it was ok and it happened again.
Ok just remembered,
Check out EVO mag July 2004 issue for the info on this( and the photo, holy shit!) inside back cover "Great escapes".

My fav quoten the first one and what he thought at the time
'Absolutely. A lot went throught my mind. I thought about how thin the windscreen was and how the car was not designed for this sort of accident. I thought I'd had it and started thinking about my friends and family. Terrifying. I also remember having my foot hard on the brakes. Not much good when you're up in the air.'

Sorry for long post!

This is a roadster which are only 5 made according to MB. CLK GTR is a race version which were only 25 built. There was one that I know of for sale in Japan.

http://www.southcn.com/car/caizht/clk/

Also it was a CLR model that flipped on le mans due to massive down force in the rear due to body aerodynamics and a speed of 180 MPH and besides the fact that all race cars have flat bottom, so basically car hydroplaned but in all cases drivers walked away. Porsche GT1 had the exact same problem.

oh btw CLK GTR is my favorite car of all time  next is Saleen S7

Sorry for the wrong info; one small letter, big difference

The photo in EVO is very similar, possibly shot from the same location (car side on to cam in air, nose down) and camera.

Thanks for the photo/link mate.
