Maserati making an SUV is no worse than BMW or Mercedes doing it.
Heres the way i see the Fiat Group:
-Ferrari: supercars/high-powered GTs
-Maserati: Luxury/sport
-Fiat: general purpose
I kinda hope the Maserati makes the cut, it's a nice design 8)
