The exact performance
Does somebody know what the exact performance is of a GT40 Gulf Oil:
The topspeed?
0-60 mph / 100 km/u?
0-100 mph / 160 km/u?
Horsepower?
could you please answer some of these questions? because they'r" every place different :x

They're probably different in different places because the car had a variety of gearbox ratios that were used in different places depending on the type of track. I've heard 0-100kph in as little as 4 seconds and as high as 5.1, and 0-100 anything from 9.2 to 11 seconds.

yeah, this isn't really the place to ask that kind of question. [not to belittle the intelligence of the members here] they used different engines every year. with different combos of other things as well, such as the radiator placement. ever notice the different air intake scoops on the rear of the car? ever year model is different and you would have to be really specific. plus, as mentioned above they use different gear ratios for every track. and then their are the specifics such as performing the test at racnig temperatures or the ideal for good numbers. and don't even get me started on the different ways to measure hp.

You crack me up, RC45. I could imagine a 30++ yr old guy trying to say that in an innocent 12-yr old boy's voice. Hahahaha.

number77....I think you might want to recheck your info...the radiators never moved, the extra scoops above the original side-scoops on some of the Mk 2 GT40s were in place to provide more air to the carbs themselves, not to the cooling system. The trumpets on the rear deck on some of the Mk 2s were meant to provide additional cooling to the engine, but could not have put air through the radiators which were still side-mounted as beneath those trumpets was the famous "bundle of snakes" exhaust system. The Mk IV was of course a completely new design with a 427cid V8 pushing about 500bhp. As for what engine was used, it does depend on the year, and sometimes even on the race you're talking about. The Gulf livery on the GT40 was used in 1968/1969 on a Mk 1 with a 289cid engine which was later replaced by a 5 liter pushing 425bhp and with a top speed of 210mph (tested on the Mulsanne straight). The Mk 1 debuted several years earlier in 1965 and when rule-changes dictated that the 427 couldn't be used in that particular car in 1968, the 302 was dropped in and it won at LeMans.

i could of sworn that car had some overheating issues, but i guess i could be wrong, after all, i haven't read about the original gt40's mk "#" in over a year.
but
RC45 i hope your not insulting me.? there are different ways to measure hp and tq. even when you eliminate all the sae ratings and just rate it at the rear wheels, some dyno systems rate higher that others. do some research, talk to a good tuner and he will tell you the same thing. you must know that consistency out of the dyno is what is needed, not a high number.
after all, if you and your friend had the same car and dynoed them out on different systems, there could be a significant difference, even if you don't look at calibration. wheel weight and tire pressure even effect it (to a lesser extent). and that is just for a hp #, not the curve of the hp/tq graph. yes curve since technically hp and tq can be derived from eachother (if you care to look at the math, its not hard). but in general "we" look at 2 different graphs.

I found out that the periscopic vents were actually to aid brake-cooling, so I was a bit wrong about that, sorry
