1997 Ford Probe GT/GTS...they were good looking cars, slightly underpowered and lacking decent brakes, but they did look nice.
Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo
Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0L
and of course the quintessential Escort Cosworth with the biplanar rear wing in dark metallic blue.

IMO the Celica has always tried too hard to be cool and failed miserably. I Kinda like the fifth generation Prelude, that was a good looking car.

short list..
i always liked the celica GT4's (st205)..
there 2000+ celica is ok, looks kinda girly and less elegant imo... but there vvtli engine is great , and all toyota's are bullet proof built to last.

Peugeot looks great, Pininfarina styling.
Alfa coupés are (nearly) always great. GTV's still pretty, with help from Pininfarina and the new GT's prettier, Bertone
New Astra isn't pretty, but the old Astra Bertone Coupé was sooo clean.
Porsche 914 was very unpretentious.
I'm not a fan of any japanese coupés. They may be practical or fast, but in no way beautiful.
Hyundai Coupé/Tiburon/Tuscany looks great too, but the interior absolutely sucks.

I would choose between the 3 Series Coupe and the Merc CLK.
