Real, they designed the M-16 to disable the enemy not to kill. By wounding a soldier they reduce the enemy force in plus them 1 man per enemy hit, cuz they have to carry the wounded one, what didn't happens when 1 r killed.
So they made a prototype "flechete bullet" a bullet that appears to be a dart.
