Default On 5th Gear tonight

Britain's fuel costs are soaring so we're going to find out what sort of car will reduce your fuel bills; petrol, diesel, or hybrid. Watch the show to discover the ultimate economy car and enter the competition to win it at: www.five.tv/fifthgear
Over 40 years, 15 incarnations and 200 different models have not dimmed the enthusiasm for the Porsche 911. Tiff gets his eager hands on the new 911 this week and familiarizes himself with a new classic.
In true Fifth Gear style we're dropping the shoot-out rule book and having a supercar v super bike shoot-out. We put Tiff in a Lamborghini Gallardo supercar and motorbike journo Kevin Smith on Ducatti's latest 999 super bike. May the fastest win!

Sounds like a lot of this stuff has already been done on Top Gear. And the supercar- superbike shootout was definitly already done on one of Clarkson's shows (I believe the name was "Shoot Out") Fifth gear needs to get a little more original with their ideas!

It's been done in the previous episode of 5th gear, only they had a boat to race along with them. I'm interested to see what Tiff thinks of the new car as he's always been a fan of the ass-engined 911. Should be a good watch, though the line up does seem rather dull compared to what will be happening in the 5th series of Top Gear.

It was very good tonight...they even have a little trailer like Top Gear showing us what is coming up in the rest of the series.

My highlight :The Gallardo vs The Ducati

It was on the 'head to head' dvd. If my memory serves me right it was a 996 C4 vs Yamaha R1. 'Shoot Out' is JC's dvd in which he searched for the best new car in 2003.

But idd it seems 5th gear is struggling with the originality of their shows. But I didn't saw this evening’s episode so I can't criticise it to full extend.

I don´t mind if the show is original or it isn´t. Watch Mr. Needell driving is a delight

I have a question for those who saw the show: How are the comments of Tiff about the new 997? Does he like it or not ?

I will have liked a little more explanation, but that's ok because I looked at it.
