Great article.
I see that cosing between the two Porsche is a difficult task. I would have to go for the 911.

very interesting article- their both great cars. the new boxter is a great car and for £38k you'll get a great car but my heart goes for the carrera s! simply if i look at them, i'd like the design of the carrera more than the boxter.

the hardcore porsche fans would say the boxter is not a real porsche. iv'e only driven the old boxter s and it's real fun. hope i can also drive the new one to get an impression of the improvements they made.

It'll be interesting to watch how Porsche will deal with the Cayman's positioning as it'll be for sure significantly lighter than the boxster and if it had power like german mags claim (300hp) I reckon the regular 911 (non-S) wouldn't stand a chance even in a straight-line.

Very good article, however, the Carrera S would be my choice for the track and drives because as good as the Boxster is, it is still known to be a hairdressers car and who wants to be seen in one of those? lol

sweet scan and article TT. i find this an interesting comparison - not the usual slug it out deathmatch between competition. interesting change of pace for evo...

awesome scan TT. That was a great article, and that's actually a comparison I've been wanting to see. I do like how they also had a relatively inexperienced Porter doing the review with Barker to get the novice's opinion on things too

Damn, I never expected this... The boxster has the balance advantage because of it's lay-out but still wow... The 911 997 is very fast as it proved in many reviews. And the boxster also seldom dissapoints, only when compared to things like an Exige...

I suppose this is a very very curvy track which is why the 911 can hardly take use of it's power advantage. No wonder the 360CS didn't score quite as well as I thought it would in the last PCOTY.

Two excelent cars but I really prefer the 911. Specially the CarreraS.

The boxster is just for those who can't buy the 911. But it was already enough for me
