Default So there's this clown on the road-side this afternoon...

...

Hehehe...

But seriously, does this kind of crap actually work? Do you think the "Free Windshield Repair" (paid by insurance) stand 1/4 mile down the road really gets more business from some clown waving a poster?

Ive never stopped at those places for hardware stores where some boob is outside carrying a sign, so I doubt the clown helps.

RC I think it is illegal to just put a sign up at the side of the road here, so they employ these sign holders to just stand there which exploits a loophole in the law maybe (I assume the labour cost is cheaper than a permit). See lots of them in Ft Worth at the weekends especially with "Ultimate Electonics" signs due to the company closing it's Ft Worth store down.

im sure you can put a sign up, but you might have to pay or soemthing where as this guy you have to pay but much less.
Yeah that's what I meant but I didn't explain it very well

how did you manage to resist the urge to swerve to the side of the road and run over him!
