Default Another 250Mph challenger from SSC

"The latest high performance variant of the SC/8T made its debut at the 2005 Concorso Italiano in Monterey, CA. The car was specifically created to challenge the 250 mph barrier, and with recent top speed attempts by Koenigsegg and Bugatti, the car will have to achieve that number if it wants to hold the title of 'World's Fastest Production Car'. Following the original 2001 model and an updated 2002 model, the 2004 version features enhanced body work with improved downforce at higher speed, as well as a supercharged version of the V8 engine in the standard car. The supercharger helps the car make just over 1,000 hp, topping the Bugatti Veyron. The car is also lighter by 250 pounds due to lightweight materials. The

bodywork alone weighs under 150 lbs. The visual differences can mostly be seen in the rear of the car, which is sloped behind the cockpit and ends in a small spoiler. Using the testing in the windtunnel, the 250 mph should be achievable if a suitable track can be found. High speed test runs are planned for later this year. "

i wonder how much it weights

since they made this car to to challege the production record of top speed.. why didnt they make a aero kit that generate less downforce?? why i say this.. bcause... come on.. this car looks like a light car to me(i am not sure) has over 1000hp...and could only reach 250mph

look at mclaren F1.. with some special gearing, it reached 240mph

btw.. this is one fuckly car

^^^ fast-autos.net says it weights 2.500 lbs. There are definitely more ugly cars but itīs no beauty either...

id like to see a bike company go for the 250 mark... although the hayabusa waspretty close with 220...and I think I saw ghostrider do a blip wheelie at around 240, with his turbo busa.

I read an article about the Harley V-rod with attempts of reaching its top speed... apparently it gets the wobbles at about 160mph (if you dont try to power through it)
maybe its the same with other bikes... bit too unstable for the very high speeds
and besides many sports/racing bikes get to 300kph i guess there isnt much need to go further, its not like you'll reach it on a regular basis.. although it would be interesting
some guy in NZ fitted nos to a ducati i think (may of been a diff bike).... the Nos only lasted about 5 or 6 seconds... but it would blast you to about 400kmh they reckon

thats a horrible looking car. i think the front lights are from an RSX, and the rears from a diablo, i think. dont make a supercar unless it looks stunning, or nobody is gonan buy them.
