Actual maintenance log for a fighter
Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by US Air Force
pilots and the replies from the maintenance crews.
Problem: "Left inside main tire almost needs replacement."
Solution: "Almost replaced left inside main tire."
Problem: "Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough."
Solution: "Auto-land not installed on this aircraft."
Problem: "The autopilot doesn't."
Signed off: "IT DOES NOW."
Problem: "Something loose in cockpit."
Solution: "Something tightened in cockpit."
Problem: "Evidence of hydraulic leak on right main landing gear."
Solution: "Evidence removed."
Problem: "DME volume unbelievably loud."
Solution: "Volume set to more believable level."
Problem: "Dead bugs on windshield."
Solution: "Live bugs on order."
Problem: "Autopilot in altitude hold mode produces a 200 fpm descent."
Solution: "Cannot reproduce problem on ground."
Problem: "IFF inoperative."
Solution: "IFF inoperative in OFF mode."
Problem: "Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick."
Solution: "That's what they're there for."
Problem: "Number three engine missing."
Solution: "Engine found on right wing after brief search."

Its funny just to think how pissed off the maintenance guys get after getting complaints that are so ignorant.

lol, thats hilarious. Its even more frightening considering the US has what may be considered as the most powerful Army/Air Force/Marines/whatever u wanna call it, in the world. Wonder what a Canadian Jet Log would look like... o yea, we havent discovered jets yet

Its a miracle that US Pilots dont shoot soldiers on their own side with complaints like that...oh yeah....they do!!

This doesnt happen in civil aviation. Having worked as an engineer at an airline ( http://www.flybeas.com ) for the first two years of my career I can assure you that comments like this do not get written down. Verbal comments get made, yeah.
'unable to replicate fault' or similar might get written in response to an ambiguous comment.
I can't speak for the military, but with most pilots being officers and most groundcrew writing tech log responses being squaddies I would doubt it very much, unless the guys know oneanother very well.
