surveillance cameras to record to PC??

dunno if this helps,
but i use a webcam.
the webcam has somesort of ccd device. when someone/something motionizes its stream of sight, it will start to record onto the computer.

i am trying to upload the recoreded file on to the server, so if they see it, it is online. i can do the uploading part with pictures so far.

webcam i used is one of those logitech still camera.
