Someone hit the car with a towbar :x Luckily no damage to undercarriage,suspension etc.

I'm going to put this one in my room, decoration

But now my question is, could this still be fixed up a little bit ? So you don't notice it that much this wheel is damaged ?
Anyone have experience with repairing these kind of wheels ?

Well they can be fixed. They are not forged (at least I dont think) and yeah sanding and painting is what fixes it. It costs like 250$ more or less from what I have heard. If you buy new rims from BMW then yeah you get it up the ass, try ebay I saw auctions for all rims plus tires for 1200 so you might find a single one being sold or something.

A customer of mine parked his carrera GT illegally, the westminster parking people picked it up and inpounded it. Magnesium wheels? Cannot be refurbished. Bill? 15,942 for 2 rears and one front. Westminster are paying. the only reason he didn't need the 2nd front wheel? That's where the clamp was. the wheels were delivered from PAG and are soooo light. Anything on a 911 including turbo 996 wheels can be refurbed for about 85 cost to us. Painted wheels twice that. Oh and how much hevier is a 18" carrera wheel? Loads.

The damage looks minor and repairable - check with your BMW service advisors - they should be able to recommend the necessary shops that do this kind of work.

What I would first do is take the car to a tire shop and have them check if the wheel is rotating correctly and not got a wobble in it or something. Just for iece of mind - you do want a wheel failure at high speed.

as been stated before, yes they can be fixed. We get this all the time. even if they are bent they can be straightened out.

Although I would not want to trust a rim that has taken a sharp blow to the spoke area without an xray inspection.

driven hard against what? - The curb

That's the only concievable time to curb a wheel, when parking - otherwise, it's pot holes etc in the street that you have to watch out for.

Cig - unlucky with the wheel mate - they (slightly) spoiled a really nice car there

if you go sideways and there are gravel you will mess up your rims, and if they are curved and stick out some they will catch everything flying when driving behind another car....

so yes its posible to mess up your rims without hitting the curb....

I know that, but to "REALLY" curb them (as everso said), i would imagine some pretty hard driving against the curb was needed

That is almost nothing... I've seen wheels with chunks missing like if someone had bitten them and after being fixed they were AS NEW!

sorry, but that's a rip off. Audi TT wheels are not that expensive to fix if they look anything like in your sig. Those rims are quite simple and methinks they were hoping to just buy new ones for you and replace it that way.

I've fixed my old Brabus rims (which are expensive), and it only cost me about $200. They were pretty rashed in the outer edges (not the spoke part however) and yet the end results were amazing. They looked as good as new, even the gloss was put back on, and the original hazy gray color (a bad job could result in the clear coat flaking off tho').

You could of course try to do it yourself too ( http://www.autopia-carcare.com/realwhda.html )...
