Same happened to me last winter. Drove the car, she was a bit sluggish and when I parked the car I smelled unfamiliar odour :shock:
Phoned the Wegenwacht (dutch RAC) and they told me that there was a 45 minutes waiting time and that the best thing I could do in the meantime was to keep the engine running.
When the Wegenwacht arrived they put the car on a jack to check whether or not the brakes where still stuck. Fortunately the heat of the engine & exhaust had 'melted' the frozen water between the steel inner cables which operates the handbrake and the outer cablescovering, so both wheel were running freely. That's a solution which worked with my type of car; just note that the area is properly vented :fadein:
