uh, one thing comes to mind about said embargo: would everso have to have his name signed on the deal in order to be bound by it?
Whoever took the pics in the first place is the one that broke said embargo.
I wouldn't say everso is guilty of breaking anything, but GM did lose interest after talking with RC, who wisely took a preemptive measure and hired a lawyer just in case. So yes, i think a thank you is in order for RC getting back in GM's face instead of backing down like everyone that lead them to his doorstep.

pics of the c6 z06 that made it to the internet well ahead of the car's unveiling. supposedly there was an embargo that said the pics were to remain confidential until the car was unveiled.
somehow the pics got out and made it to JW, then a Corvette forum where GM got wind that the pics had been leaked and ended up sending a pair of goombahs to RC's doorstep to intimitade him into revealing where he got them. Well, like any self respecting person would, RC told them to fuck off and got a lawyer in case GM tried anything beyond that. And just for good measure, he let the story of it out to the media. After that i don't think he has heard a peep from GM.

I do believe the gent get's the idea... it's about doing the "right" thing... having been raised to not roll over on people, I was also raised to at least give thanks where due.
Again, it's about depth of character.

Dude, I can't agree with you enough. At this point of my life I'm learning to not deal with assholes that do not give respect where it's due, which is something I greatly believe in. Whether you were brought up like that or not, if you do not respect anyone you're just an asshole.
And assholes get fucked by dicks. [/end team america]
either way, I'm glad you've spoken the truth and I hope you can let whatever bullshit you have between some of the people in this forum behind. Most of all, I'm glad youre done "observing" and now speaking your mind once again.

coming clean was a great relief... I am aware my animosity was unknown and hidden and obviously looked unfounded - but I am at peace with the world now

GM took the pictures, then gave them to various media coorispondants (etc.) who had agreed not to publish/release/post/etc. the images until after the Januar auto show in Detroit.

I think everyone has had their say now (some more than others - *cough* ronin) and thats fair enough, but now it has to stop I am afraid. Its a new day and hopefully a new start and from now on we don't want any more Euro/US bashing outside of the political forum.
I will be asking the JW moderators to keep an eye out for any topics drifting off course and deleting comments and posts as appropriate as well as recommending bans for repeat offenders.

It was supposed to be a NEW START and here you are antagonising RC45 once more.
If you want to carry on with this way of thinking then I am afraid you will have to do it on someone elses forum.

hey hey, i don't wander in the american car section as its well known that i don't like american cars. so, i didn't know what was going on in there and well i didn't get a chance to voice my opinion on the whole thing, so i kinda felt like i had to in a way.
but if you look back i don't think i was harsh at all with what i had to say one bit, if anything i would say i was pretty tame!!

i don't really wish him death to be honest, the title i think displays my hate of the guy, i guess i could change it but i wanted a short title. i see what i can think of!!
and one thing for sure about alonso, hes far from being respectable, but thats whole another story!!
|
You are a "character" thats for sure and thats always good for the forum IMO. Come on then...whats wrong with "Alonso" I cant believe anyone that old could be all that bad YET !!

^ not to drag this topic off topic, but Alonso has yet to admit he had Lady Luck riding with him last year. If he can legitimately win, over Raikonnen and Schumacher, then i think attitudes will change a bit. But for that to happen, McLaren needs to definitively iron out the wrinkles. A brawl between the German and the Spaniard would be entertaining, but it needs to be a close battle including the Finn, who has proven he has the speed and talent.
