Default Karting acceleration/top speed ?!

Hi guys,

me and a few friends, are talking about renting a go kart track for a day to have some fun :>!

The track is nice, but the karts are not as good. I mean they are cool and relatively fast but nowhere near some kick-ass karts that we've seen and heard about.

So my question, what d oyou think the acceleration and the top speed is going to be?

There are 2 types of karts, both are with honda engines. One with 160cc 4 stroke 5.5hp engine. The others are with 200cc 4 stroke 6.5hp engine.

I don't know some numbers will come in handy.
Thanks

If you are a first time kart driver than that would give you a real challange.. A 2 stroke kart is not an easy thing to drive. You really need to know what you are doing to drive the thing.

Acceleration or top speed is not the big thing on the onces you are talking about it's the speed you are doing in the corners. If this is your first time in a kart then you mind will blow and it will take couple of times until you can take the fast corners at full speed.

I onces drove a 2 stroke Rotex don't remember the spec but I saw 130km/h in the display thing and 130 in that thing is real fun but that stops when you star facing a wall while your brakes are locked up hehehe..

Good luck with the kart thing. and be careful as they might seem slow but they can hurt you badly.

I'm not a first time kart driver. I've been doing it for years. Unfortunatelly, he karts they offer for rent in my country (Bulgaria) are 1 stroke. There are some official races where they have some pretty mean karts, but I don't think I will get my hands on one. Oh and yes to drive a shifter kart must be quite a challenge especially at first.

About the top speed/acceleration thing, I know it's not the most important thing, who cares about some numbers when with some 5 or 6 hp you can go pretty fast especially on corners.

But I was just curious guys come on!!!

p.s. Ronin,. I'm almost sure they will hit 40mph, even the 5.5hp one.
