it just churps a bit its not spinning, if i spin i timed it wrong.

its a play of spin + grip that gives you a good launch.

I've driven 5 speed rangers (a 92, and 96, 4 cyl, and v6 respectively)

a proper launch does in fact have significant wheelspin in that car ; playing with the clutch....

i have run the fastest in the 1/4 with churping over spinning, spinning adds almost a full second of more.

the idea is you spin until you hit the torque curve's meat.

when my tires were new, I could do 3000rpm and let go clutch so it would chirp grab and go. Now I have to do 2500rpm and let go the clutch till I feel car moving, hold it there for a sec so RPMs dont fall and continue letting go.

on cheap ass 255's on a mustang GT, you get the best launch from about 4200, ass wagging from side to side... tires spinning til about 35 mph for about 60 feet.
