Damn the car is very similar looking to the regular 430. The challenge wheels and the challenge rear grills are available options on the base 430. Thus it looks the exhaust pipe location is the only give-away that this is the CS.

In the 360 Modena and stradale, the key differentiators were the extended front fascia, CF mirrors and rear spoiler. Looking at an incoming 360 from a distance it was difficult to make out if it was a CS until you could the see the mirrors. But this looks like a piece of cake compared with identifying between a 430 and 430CS.

Kinda silly to "fine tune" to engine for a certain exhaust note IMO.. it's supposed to be a race car for the streets and should "naturally" sound great.

Agreed, bit of a strange idea indeed. Supercars are supposed to sound nice because of their racy engines anyway.

From what I understand, the flat plane of the engine makes its super high efficiency exhaust sound the same throughout the rev band. Im sure Ferrari is wokring on it to optimize it and retain that familiar change of pitch throughout the rev range

I think the F430 CS will be with new wheels design, not this one.

^^Just in case anyone misses it, there is a little photo gallery link at the top-right of that page which has some more pics on.

So it looks so far like a twin exhaust centre set-up rather than twin at each side.

I am still hoping that there are more subtle styling changes to come.

P.S. Perhaps we'll see an F430CS pictures topic in the Ferrari section soon TT?

One piece of hardware the two cars will share is a high-mounted exhaust, and from the looks of the measuring equipment attached it pushes the limits of legality.
