Default A 400 hp Audi S3

If you’re after a performance upgrade that will make ever other “hot hatch” seem like a “mildly warm hatch,” you can’t look further than the upgraded Audi S3 being offered by German tuning house Wimmer Rennsporttechnik. Our friends over at Autoblog.nl uncovered this beast of a hatch that now develops 408hp, up from a standard 256hp. Torque figures are even more impressive, with the S3 now pumping out 540Nm as opposed to the piddly 350Nm on the standard model.

The power upgrades were done by changing parts on the engine, in the injection system, and the turbocharger. Though the standard S3 can do the 0-100km/h sprint in around 5.7 seconds, no official figures have been released for this modified version. We’d expect it to easily break the five second barrier.

well... we have to wait for the dyno chart for the engine to decide on that

LOL!

A 2.0 turbo engine with that much power really remembers me of the infamous FQ-400
True, that had so much lack it would have been faster without a turbo

The thing about loosing that dragrace was of course how you drive it....

A enzo would loose against a toyota pickup truck with 50 hp if they drove it on a gravel road with bad surface...

you just dont put turbo car in a high gear and do an dragrace...stupid comparison....just its stupid to try and race a Enzo on a bad gravel road....

I have seen and feelt 1,8 litre turbo engines pushing 400hp and more at 400hp its still possible to maintain an ok powerband....so this might not be as bad as you think, belive, feel, guess or just say.....
I totally agree, turbo lag means nothing if you downshift. The only time turbolag will be would be an issue is in drag racing, but if you have a strong clutch and good pedal work, it also wouldn't be much of an issue.
