Default Spy shots: MErcedes-Benz MLK SUV

Daimler Chrysler is joining the entry-level luxury SUV race with what is being called the MLK. Who knows if those famous initials will stick, but internally they're calling it the 204 SUT. The 4x4 SUV shares components with the upcoming C-Class line, much like the X3 uses the 3 Series as its starting point. Notice the X3 in the second photo the testers used as a comparison.

But our money is riding on the fact that this sucker will share the lines of the popular CLS 4-door coupe. Word is that the MLK will have a choice of four, six, and eight cylinder engines but the four doesn't sound likely to us. The small SUV will be assembled in Bremen and annual production is expected at 40,000 units. Expect a price in line with the X3.

so, which car companies are now mising an SUV from their line up?[/quote]

For a car competing with the X3, I see this as a failure. It doesn't even look like an off-roader. It looks stupid. Only for women.
