Trusty webpage for ipod HD?
As you might already be thinking, I have a 4th gen ipod with a faulty HD.
the assholes at the service center only said: "you have to buy a new one, we don't have replacement parts"
of course they sell brand new ipods.
searching I found a page about how easy is to change the HD and battery.
the webpage with the replacement battery has been recommended, but I haven't found a trust worthy site to buy the HD.
any help? please???
thanks

perfect, thanks a lot Nth
my ipod is 40GB, so I'll have to shell out 200 usd. Not bad for a "brand" new mp3 player

All you need is a 1.8" hard drive.
This is the cheapest I found for a 40gb Toshiba drive.

Toshiba 40.0GB 1.8-in HDD 4200RPM 2MB 8mm Height 3-Year Warr. Bulk Specs

thanks dutch. I'd already found some webpages with the same HD, but I don't trust all sites that sell stuff.
