How is this Kimi's car?

I really struggle with the idea of F1 drivers, owning or driving anything BUT the cars made by the manufacturers team that they race for!! I.e Ferrari (or fiats..), and in the past, M.B.

..Maybe a gift from Audi after driving a LeMans car?

I'm just curious, other than the wheels what exactly do you think is ugly about it? I feel you're passing judgement based on wheels when this guy (maybe Kimi) seems to put useful parts on his car minus the wheels.

This doesn't make sense to me, considering he was under contract to Mclaren Mercedes. It would be completely contradictive to his contract!

Actually, the E-gear is quite good. Only issue is it's use in around town daily driving, concerning clutch slippage / engagement. It takes twenty minutes to get used to if shown how to modulate properly. (If unaware, you could be looking at a new clutch every 6000 miles!

I am well aware of how it 'feels' thanks boss, I am also well aware of how to properly modulate the throttle to make the gearbox change most smoothly. It is still, without a shadow of a doubt, a fairly expensive option which removes some of the 'need to' from the experience of driving.

Agreed, it definitely seems weird.

As far as the car itself, not bad, I personally don't like the wing that much but definitely not bad.

I didn't mean to sound authorative; I've developed a very strong opinion in this regard due to driving a gallardo for a few months, and further it is the concensus amongst pursists owners that I know. Still, my opinion remains just that. An opinion.

The gallardo coupe MSRP is $180,000, and E-gear is a $10,000 upgrade over the base model. This represents a 5.5% upgrade cost. If 5.5% $ increase is a make or break factor to the decision of purchasing a car.. It can't be afforded!!
It blows me away how people use the premium-priced options as logic to justify the irrationality of a high-end purchase. It's just so contradictory.
