My boat?
Iwish...
Hoping someone out there may remember who i am?
Anyways, got into the fishing and then boating. I can tell you owning a boat sucks money like a hummer sucks fuel. Fishing sucks money too, the amount of money spent on lures is mind boggling. Fishing has taken so much of my time i have forgotten about this place. Sorry guys. At least fishing is a hobby and relaxing one as well.
Hope you guys are doing well and here's a pic of my dream boat
If you're a crook you sure don't want to be noticed by these guys. This boat is owned by the US government. Border and customs security department...soemthing along that line This baby was built by Nor-Tech at a cost of $500k USD. American taxpayers can pat yoursleves on the back for providing this superb water vessel. If i was caught, i'd make sure i have some Tiagras with me

Possibly too many engines for a spot of fishing, but it seems like a good machine to let off some steam in.

That isn't a fishing boat, that is a moneysuckerbeast.......If you gave me that boat i would probably sell 3 of those engines and use only one. You won't go anywhere with that thing, unless you have a 350L fuel tank. My boat has only one 150hp V6 engine, and still gives me headache.

pitfield: fishing is for fun, if i really want to eat fish i would not bother with buying loads of fishing gear and i wouldn't want to own a boat because no matter what size boat, they chew through your wallet. like cars, its an expensive hobby. also, i gotta disagree with sails, just not my thing. you like your sails, i'm not going to stop you.
mattk: if you think that is excessive, you don't know that that is the american style . but you should check out some serious fishing tournaments, especially in the states. a lot of them run minimum triple 250hp outboards. there is strict timing, so you need to get to the fishing grounds quick and make it back in time for the weigh-in. tourny boats weigh at least 10,000lb so theres no such thing as too many motors.
strop: boats are a headache in general. too much commitment in owning one. its not like you can just drive it home and park it in the garage like a car. everytime i go home it needs a hose down, the motor needs a fresh water flush, clean the insides so no bait is left lying around, gotta wash it so the salt won't corrode metal bits etc
also that boat in particular, i reckon it would have at least 1500L fuel capacity, possibly 2000L. if it only had 350L, that would be used up in one hour at WOT. If you sold the other 3 motors, you won't be going anywhere quick, that thing must weigh at least 20,000lb. also, it reaches that magical mark of 80mph with all those motors, that is like a car capable of 200mph.

Ouch, that hurts......it takes fishing into a whole new level, but like you said, it's the American way to do it.

Bingo mate... that's the entire point if America.. bigger badder meaner... just for the hell of it.
This is probably your idea of a shotgun, dignified gentleman style.... "whot whot.. I say I say old chap.. interested in a bit of quail hunting??"
This is what I would prefer to have as a shotgun - 12 round magazine, 12 guage semi-auto fire. Lets go bag us *anything*

Did I mention that's a civilian sporting gun hehe

Interesting. I've watched some fishing competitions on television (they are mildly exciting) and the competitors simply zip about in little tinnies with single outboard motors, although armed with all manner of high-tech fish-finding devices.

big difference between inland lakes, and ocean fishing competitions. (or Great Lakes). Those small tin boats will succumb to the wake of the ocean; drift out to see, capsize etc.

^Yeah, competitions here are generally confined to rivers. The oceans are for commercial operations.
