BMW uses compressors instead of Turbo, cause compressors gives you power all the way from 2000 revs and upwards, while a Turbo only gives power when you're over ca 4000 revs. I'd go for a supercharger.

BMW AG would rather use compressors instead of Turbos. And the Turbos doesn't give the same amount of power in low revs as the compressors do.

yeah because it voids the warranty and then they don't have to worry about it anymore LOL I'm sure most car companies would support whatever the buyer does to the car after the warranty. It shows that people really love their cars.

The warranty lasts after the compressors have been installed. A neighbor of mine got a BMW 540iA Touring and put a compressor in it, and the warranty is the same.

Hmm. That's new to me. Haven't studied Alpinas past. Didn't know that Alpina used Turbos. But I'm pretty sure that BMW doesn't support Turbos in the same way as they support compressors. The warranty doesn't count after there has been putted a Turbo into the engine. That's what I've been told.
