Squeeks trip to Gis' house!
well as a few of you might know, Squeek and Gis, two cousins, met up for the first time in 2 years this monday, and by god was it good! seeing dan was great and he looks completely different! he also has gained a v v v big video collection! hehehe. to Gis: thankyou so much dan for letting me come round n get to know you again your a great guy n id like to see alot more of you in the future!!
well, the main event while i was there i suppose was the racing in Gis' 1.6 litre citroen saxo vtr with air filter and cool air intake. i can re-assure anyone here, if you previously thought saxo's were slow, think again! this is one nippy as fuck car n i loved every second i spent in it! the sound of the saxo is amazing imo!! check it out for yourself soon. me n Gis raced around the twisty streets and country roads before opening the throttle on the nearby motorway, taking footage all the way! Gis has compiled all the video footage into a 12 minute long 124mb file that is v interesting and a good download (however the videos will not be hosted until required space is found. if you know of such opportunity, please pm me or Gis).
the countryside around Gis' and my area is great and is the typical standard british greenage! lol. ive got a couple of pics here for you landscape lovers that you might be interested in! lets have a look:
this area contains great hairpin bends and sharp s bends that provide drivers with a challenge to take them at speed with greater accuracy than required on a normal road. every single minute on these roads are hairy and edge-of-your-seat emotions. this particular part (the viewpoint as it is called) reminds me of a rally stage.
when we went onto the motorway we found that it was considerably busy, but never too busy for a good ragging of the vtr! hehehe. the guy you can see is Gis' friend, Will, who owns a 1.1 punto with straight through K&N exhaust system, along with a sub in the back. (there are other mods but i dont know them all!). we had great fun on the motorway because of several reasons. firstly, we got extremely scared when we were doing 100mph and came up to what we thought was a police car.........seconds later to find out that it was a highway maintenance vehical . also we were going 90mph when an extremely fast golf flew past us at around 110-120mph! quite suprising! all this can be found on the video footage that will hopefully be hosted.
i really hope i will get to go out in dani's saxo soon and see dani again. he is a great guy with a great car! hopefully you will get to see what great fun we had on that day!!! post your comments below. hehehe

lol nice review although i experienced all of what happened.it was good seeing you again as i told you on tuesday.
first of all id liek to say that those pics were taken by me,so ray,you not sayin that hoping you would get credit for them has sadly failed, lol.if anyone would want them in high res just let me know
in the video you will see all those twisty roads, what they are like, how tight they are.its certainly a challenge driving on them especially at night when certain parts dont have street lights.its a place were small cars have a lot of fun in the corners.
the second part of the vid is on the motorway as squeek has said.my friend in his car aswell.one scary moment as i was doin 110 and thinkin i saw a cop in the slow lane and me doin that speed past it was indeed scary to find it was a maintenence van lol so on we go to get a new highest speed for me and the car but ill leave that for you to find in the video,i think you will be surprised seen as its only a 1.6 with 94hp
the whole couple days were fun seeing you again ray and i promised u we will do it again and i will stick to that promise for sure.

Glad you had fun, some nice pictures as well.
Sadly I'm gonna have to recommend that you not hang out with him again. Dan is obviously a bad influence by taking you down the highway at 120mph!
LOL, glad to hear you had fun. It's always great getting together with relatives you haven't seen in a while.

Great to see a reunion of JW members who haven't seen each other for a while, great scenery and nice pics gis. BTW the video is 120mb and 12mins, you can reduce that alot i would think certainly small enough for the vault, without losing to much quality, what format is it?.
BTW

Only certain parts don't have streetlights!!, most of the twisty roads around me don't have any til you get to a village or roundabout LOL

LOL yeah, the parts with no street lights are up in the hills, then theres a part with lights coz ther eis about 3 houses and a pub then no lights again till u get back to the village, lol
the video was done on my mini DV camera so when taken off the camera the 12 minutes were well over 2 GIG in size, lol so to keep the good quality it was reduced to smallest of 124MB,i do have a lower res version thats 59MB,that one is ok really just not as clear.

if you convert it to divx or xvid , it should be fine IMO, i mean to around the quality of jabbas top gear vids- they are like 200mb for an hour so 10 minutes should be about 35mb reduce the sound quality to and you should still be able too get a good quality rip under 50mb
