I'm not sure I'd like the idea of this....-_-;; Diesel-good; 2.0L- not good; not supercharged- not good...-_-;;
It's pretty much worse than the current 2.5i, which really sucks... :cry:

"Ownership of BMW's 3-Series-based X3 off-roader is to get much cheaper with the introduction of a 2.0-litre diesel to the range. The £26,175 2.0d costs nearly £3000 less than the previous entry-level 2.5 petrol version, and according to BMW's official figures, doesn't give up too much performance.

150bhp from the 3-Series proven diesel may not sound like much to shift the 1760kg X3, but it's got 243lb ft of torque (pulling power) to play with: 62mph comes up in 10.2 seconds (0.4sec down on the 2.5) while the newcomer can get to 123mph (just 4mph down). Meanwhile fuel economy jumps to 39.3mpg on the combined cycle (up 7.1mpg over the 2.5) and the cost to benefit-in-kind taxpayers is lessened by a full 11 percent. Transmission is via a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.

The new base X3 is available in standard or SE trim. All 2.0 diesel versions come with DSC stability and traction control and four-wheel drive. Other standard kit includes automatic air-con, a CD player and 17-inch alloys. Moving up to SE gains various cabin improvements and extra storage, parking sensors, cruise control, foglights and a multi-function steering wheel.

Naturally a 150bhp 2.0 litre engine is a turbocharged engine, and with a very high pressure in the turbo and the bump......as thamar said....its very rare to find out a non turbocharged engine on the market, unless someone gets the SDI group VAG engine for a certain car, thats the point

I wonder how it measures up to a Nissan X-Trail in terms of power. Oh yeah I think X3 looks bad. Saw one in person and it kinda tarnishes the BMW badge. Bangled again...

personally, i think all this downstaging on Merc/BMW part is horrific. they are sacrificing an elite name for total consumerism but then again, thats been happening for a while
