renting exotic cars
I just want to find out what the cost and limitations are on renting exotic cars in various countries. In Australia it is very costly and they won't let young people rent them as they are alot more expensive over here. Below are some prices from one such place ( www.mxcr.com, in Melbourne, none I know of in Perth) and as you can see it gets expensive.
These prices include 200km, every extra km is between $0.80 and $1:
Diablo $AU 3000/day, $15,000 security bond and you have to be 30yo.
F355 F1 $1500/day, $10,000 bond and also have to be 30yo.
Below $1000 you can get some nice cars like a Maserati (actually $1200), 996, XK8, SL500 and a few others.
So to get in the Lambo or Ferrari I have to wait another 8yrs.:cry: I could get my dad to rent the car and be a passenger....but that wouldn't be the same...or he could rent it for me and let me drive..... 
This place has no 360's but I have heard of a few that have but the price si obviously even higher.
There is another place in Queensland that has a private racetrack and 10 models of the latest Porsches (but no CGT) and they let you race in all of them on the track for a day(after some training), and that costs around $1200 I think.
If any of the members from Australia have ever rented such a car let me know where and how it was as I am really looking seriously at doing this some time soon hopefully.

$AU 1 is equal to $USD 0.70...so the Diablo would cost about $USD 2100.

Just to give an idea:
for one day
Murcielago: 2400 USD, 24'000 deposit (security bond), two credit cards as a guarantee, and any damage below 5000 or so is up to you if it happen. 200 or 250 km included
360 Modena: 800 USD, acceptable deposit (can't remember, but not terrible), you will pay the first 2000 USD of damage if needed.
In most cases you need to be at least 25 yo, sometimes 30 I think...

Well....If you are moderately wealthy 800 USD and bond for a day sounds very doable.

Yup the Modena is often around and well, even for normal ppl it is doable with some saving. But for the Murci it is already too much IMO.. and I'm sure the only ones renting it are supercar owners in town for holydays and wanting something similar to their own cars

Thanks for the info TT, that does seem very affordable in your area. However to hire a 360 Modena over here will cost around 3000-3500 USD, which is more than it costs to rent a Murcielago in Switzerland. :cry:

That's sick!
BTW, to rent a Cayenne S (wich I will do with a friend asap), costs 440 USD for 24 hours, unlimited km, deposit is just some 800 I think (credit card anyway)  you have to be 25 yo
Not really "affordable", but splitted in two isn't that bad I just wonder how many 100 liters thank could be used in 24 hours

There are a lot of places in Las Vegas where you can rent exotic cars. Matter of fact, the next time I go there, going to look at renting a Lotus Elise.
This place is located right on the Strip and they have a ton of exotics lined up, ready for rental.

I was actually thinking of asking this...would you rent an exotic...but well it is expensive...but you have to at least rent a ferrari once in your life...it may be the only way of to drive one....so yeah I will save up and one day rent a ferrari for a day...

Here for around 640 USD you can rent a Ferrari for a ferrari day on track yes... with mechanical assistance and all! that's the way I would go indeed!

Just make sure it's over $5000 in damages

Here in Toronto it costs about $1000 Cdn a day for a 355, a credit card deposit, and you have to be at least 25 yrs old.
