New Holden Commodore VZ
Does any know the paddle shifts on the new VZ CV6 & CV8 actually work or are they as bad as the Vanguish :?:
Not a bad 3.6L V6 punching out 190kw.

since when does a commodore have paddle shift? I must really be behind the times?
Mate i believe GM use the same supplier for all their cars - not sure who, or what, or where. Try Google.

Im no holden fan, nor do i know much of what is going on with their cars, but there have been quite a few commercials lately promoting their new V6 190kw paddle shift commodore....looks pretty interesting though.

Yes this is the wrong section, there is already a topic on the VZ which I started a while back: http://www.motorworld.net/forum/show...=15223&start=0
Do you really think Holden would put out a Commodore with paddle shifts that don't work? The 190kW V6 isn't in the entry-level cars, only the Calais and SV6. The Executive and Berlina get the 175kW version.
styla21....since the VZ was released is the answer.

Actually they are probably using the system on the New Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and trust me they suck major hairy monkey balls, the things are for show and that's it, they don't actually shift as soon as you push them and you have to pull them towards you to downshift, the tranny will shift for you if you don't shift when it tells you to. And it uses a 3.8L SC V6 and it's quite good but sadly FWD.

hey hey hey...no need to get nasty now, holdens ae good.
I think Holden have done well with this car (as Ford did with the BA) and when you consider what you get for the price you should be pretty happy.

What about the "hole" in the front guard of the SS?
Whats the deal with that?
Finally got rid of that shite V6 buick derived motor, pity we don't get all the tech that this engine has available(saving for SAAB or US?).

What hole? IF you are talking about the air intake then there is a reason for that. :

Don't get me wrong mate, it looks tough, but is it an air intake or cosmetic only?
My fav holden is not sold here, the new GTO US spec with the ram air "hood".
That is a real muscle car look and is probably functional too.

Are you talking about the fender vents?
They don't vent anything and are just for show.
Same with the bonnet scoops on the new Monaro.
