Default Autocar: BMW M5 vs Mercedes CLS55 AMG

Has BMW M5 already found its match well yes and no. According to the magazine the BMW M5 is still their best choise but CLS55 AMG is very close and even better in some areas but for the best sportier expierience is still the king.

Nice scan, thanks very much. I guess the result was as expected, but it does seem as though Mercedes is slowly creeping closer to BMW whilst still maintaining its "Mercedes" level of comfort & calm.

Hmm, a bit too close but M5 is still the best

Well is just a matter of taste anyway, good to see that MB are doing sportier cars now without loosing their identity.

These is two cars that I admire. The future Audi RS6 will have some tough competition.

I want M6 now so carmags stop comparing CLS to M5. A 6-serie is more agile and sporty and better handling car than a 5-serie, Im 100% sure it will be the same in the case M6 vs M5.
M6 will be a great M-car and M6 CSL will be even greater. CLS nor M5 will have a chance against mighty M6. M6 will eat them both for breakfast

the m5 would kill the cls55 on a track........i am guessing that a cls65 is on the way- this would be the car of choice on the autobahn instead of the new m5.

in latest EVo or Car, there is a duell between CLS55,M5 and Carrera S.
The winner in the test is the M5.
Anyone with scans?

When it comes to car comparisons, the only one that matters is EVO magazine's. Autocar is absolute crap regarding this, and is only good for news.

EVO mag and Top Gear mag put the M5 light years ahead of the CLS55. That's all you need to know.
