Lexus IS350 Test Drive
Not by me of course. Anybody change their mind?

The interior finish looks top notch, but the rear seats seems abit tight. Even tho they claim to target the 3-series, but not offering a manual tranny for the 3.5 engine means they really are not. I would say it will be a good match for the C350, but not 330i.
While you guys are at the site, don't forget to check out the GT-R Z-Tune video

Cool video. Is it just me, or does the narrator 's script sound the same as the EVO article.

I was actually considering waiting for the IS350 to come out, but I'm happy I didn't. I love Lexus, but i wish they would offer a better handling car. I've driven the GS300 AWD, and my A4 handles way better.

6 seconds to 60? no way, I stay with my G35. Slower, not as good looking, and 4 doors? thats a no brainer for me.
Obviously, Id take the IS over the G sedan, but the COupe is prettier IMO.

I think Edmunds.com always suck at measuring 0-60 acceleration. The 14.2 Quater mile prolly shows a better picture.
I think they have minor upgrades for 06 G35 sedan again....it will now have Bluetooth® hands-free phone system and satellite radio as part of the premium package. I do like the Lexus interior...but the exterior is kinda boring

Do a quick goggle search and you will see the best time given by anyone for the IS350 is 5.9... The car is way over rated, and WAY over priced...

Whatever the cause, the car doesn't feel as fast as a 306-hp sedan should as it zips to 60 mph. It does, however, beat the last 330i and A4 we tested (both equipped with six-speed manual transmissions) by 0.5 and 1.6 seconds, respectively.
I really don't think a 6 speed 330i will do 0-60 in 6.6seconds. WAY over priced?? Price is not even out yet, and it should reside around the same as a well equiped 325i, how is that over priced?

Still missed the target. I also read the Automobile Magazine's review and it basically came to the same conclusion. Overall very nice Sport Sedan. Very nice quality, fit and finish, ergonomical. Looks can be debatable. Engine and tranny nice. But in the end, the BMW 3 is still better.
My biggest knock on this car is the lack of a manual tranny. Otherwise this car would be a very good competition against the 3 and the G35.
Another down point is the styling, it works "okay" on the GS, but for some reason it does not work as well on the IS. Anyone else notice the Bangle Trunk Lid on the GS and now on the IS?
