Default Ultimate cars of the future

Zoomed in merely on the craziest supercars of the future which want to redefine the term "quick". Mostly speculations so far though, apart from the veyron.

Lets start with the confirmed ones that are sure to come.
2006 Bugatti Veyron - 8,0-litre, 1001hp W16
2006 9FF 9f-GT1 - a very own project of a german tuner, 4,0-litre flat-6, 1050hp and around 1450kg
2006 SSC Ultimate Aero - supercharged V8, 1050hp, 1200kg

More or less sure to come is also the follow-up to the Enzo.
2007/2008 Ferrari F60 - possibly a 6,8-litre V12 Uniair, 900hp, cutting edge active suspension and aerodynamics

And there is a tough competitor that is likely to appear.
2008 - Lamborghini Miura (tentative name) - 1000hp V16

And another Italian beast.
2008 MF1 - gas turbine, 1500hp, 1 000 hp+/ton

Other possible contenders :
2007 Gordon Murray's supercar - said to excel both on public roads and race tracks.

2010 McLaren's successor to the F1 - it would probably boast a four digit output as well

Saleen S7 - a 1000hp intercooled version with higher boost is set to come
And logically, Saleen's main rivals Koenigsegg and Pagani are expected to respond.
Koenigsegg CCR is going to superceded sooner or later and there were some speculations he wanted to use a B12 either 900hp NA version or a 1100hp supercharged one.
The successor to Zonda should arrive in 2007 and is said to be even lighter and naturally more powerful. Either a seriously updated NA V12 (with four valves per cylinder) or a quad turbocharged powerplant from the ME 4-12 is to be used to propel this beast.

Word is that Dauer is gonna reproduce the legendary 962 in 2006. It will be another limited run of about 20 vehicles. It is thought to be even lighter and even more powerful.

About the Miura... well, where have you read that? It's the first time I hear this...

And about the F60... don't think they jump from 650 to 1000hp... so I suppose the car will be around 700-730hp. Ferrari has never increased the power so much from a model to the successor...

And finally there's the Dauer... can't wait to see it (if it's really true)! But instead of the looks of the 962-956 Le Mans winner... they should design something like the Audi R8... would be cool!
In case of the 9FF, the power is available on demand. 850 to 1050hp.
I'm gonna respond to other questions tomorrow as I'm leaving my pc right now.

Alot of magazines will try to tell you there is a "new Miura"....don't listen to them, it's all LIES!

there is also NO F60 planned with 900hp. the successor to the Enzo will have a V12 and a lightweight body/frame...that's all that's known. Ferrari don't generally believe in pure horsepower like other companies do. They believe more in balance of the car...

there is no successor to the Maclaren F1 planned either. Maclaren has minimal plans for road cars at the moment.

i'm not sure where you got this information from....but some of it is far from the truth

cheers!
I admit the 1000hp Miura (rumour about which only once appeared on Italiaspeed, but still is in the future section) and the 1000hp McLaren (rumour about which once appeared in Road and Track) really are far from the truth. I said some of them were pure speculation.

But the F60 is not the case.As you said the successor to the Enzo will really have a V12 and lightweight body/frame - it will be called F60 and the engine will produce AT LEAST 800hp. As ever, as an enthusiast, I'm using the most optimistic figure ever mentioned, which is 900hp. And this info comes straight from Italian insiders.

well. the Enzo was considered to be the F60. I'm not sure what they will call the next one. F70? who knows!

No, the Enzo was the Enzo. Yeah, some people called it the F60, but it never was that. The next one will be the F60.

i was told by an analyst that the Enzo was developed under the name "F60"....after its development was done...it was called "Enzo"

the naming of cars is generally the last part in the production of it y'know
No, it never was F60. Under development, it was FX. The engine was named F140, which I've also seen some people call it.

There are till no tyres capable of using all that power in 100%. I don't like the idea of all the major companies going 1000bhp, they should stick to the ~600 mark and concentrate on enchancing the brakes, steering etc.

Correct. Just some magazines brought up the name F60 while Enzo was being developed-for them it logically seemed to be the next step after F50 . But it turned out to be wrong, which is not that surprising since the 60th anniversary is in 2007.

well, historically...
the 87 F40 had 478 bhp
the 95 F50 had 520 bhp a gain of 42 hp
the 2003 Enzo (FX) had 650 bhp a gain of 130 hp
in linear form, this says that the next F car will have roughly 1052 hp... but lets take into account years... initially, they found 5.25 hp/year, later improved to 16.25 hp/year... so if the next F is the F60, it can be assumed that it will have an additional 195 hp at the rate of growth, limited by time. so that suggests a car with 845hp, which seems reasonable

if i would get my logarythmic regression formulas out; then i could give a more accurate forecast

also, i really hope Dauer is planning to bring back the 962; as its my favorite (and perhaps the greatest )race car of all time; and street versions dont suck

That's pretty much what Autobild claimed.

The Koenigsegg CCR and CC8 are already supercharged...

These horsepower figures are ridiculous.

Yeah, but what's the point ? They are not powered by a B12 (flat 12).

The recent supercars might be getting more h.p. but they are also getting heavier. I would rather have a light weight car with less h.p. than the other way around.
