What do you do when you hear strange noises in your car

I will turn everything off and find the source of the noise and fix it accordingly.

when I had my car, I didn't mind those noises even if they were too loud. it just belongs to winter, so you have to live with it .... fotunatelly I am quite patient so I have no probs wit these noises....

Sell it and buy a new car.

turn off the radio/ +fans..... and try and get the noise to repeat... perform immediate diagnosis to determine if its nothing important (99.9% of the time for me lol)

I HATE strange noises... I don't rest until I discover their origin.

I can't remember the last time I could even hear the radio let alone a squeak or rattle over the engine/exhaust noise ...

^ they (squeaks and noises) really annoy me, too.

Convertibles really arent the best type of car for squeaks and rattles!

In my experience, most squeaks are one of the un-used seatbelts rubbing against the seat in a newer car.

You'd be surprised where they come from. Sometimes it sounds like the squeak is coming from a completely different area than you thought due to the frequency of the sound and the acoustics of the cabin.

try to experiment with different speeds, maneuvers, etc to hear again the strange noise (right now I have one, but I don't have the time to check it )

tie up the person stuffed in your boot/trunk tighter so they cant move about, making noise.

start holding things down that are within reach until the trouble maker is found.

or in the case of one X5, practically pull the dash and drive around (turned out to be the fuel line bracket bouncing off the strut tower :roll: )Taping things down also works...
