My trip to Austria this year. 24.02-05.03.06

As always, me and my friends drove down to Söll in Tirol, Austria to ski and party one week straight. It's a 4hour ferry from Norway, and then 1500km of unrestricted Autobahn. This year was no exeption and after we made up 4hrs on the autobahn with the A8 we were in good shape when we got down and hit the bars imedeatly. No need to say I got pissed. After driving 12hrs straight you get drunk pretty fast. Especially when the barkeep gives you and your friends free 4cl 80% shots of "Stroh". One week of snowboarding in the day and drinking in the night really weares you down, and as you can see in the photos we are really going for it every night.

We had clouds and snow one day, but the rest of the week was cold and sunny. I lost 2 half days in the slopes due to an infection in my back and one whole day due to drinking But the whole week was great. With sun and the temperature around -10 to -15*C the conditions were great. Not as much powder as we hoped for this year, but overall a great year.

On the way home we got caugt in the insane blizzard that was over Bayern and the south of Austria. The traffic report on the navigation system clearly told all trailer trucks and cars without 4x4 to get the f*ck off the autobahn until the weather cleared. I put the A8 in lift mode, no ESP and drove on. We managed to keep 65km/h average until we came out of the snow 2 hours later. Then it was pretty much clear and dry roads, except for some snow in Denmark, to the ferry. Later on the radio we were told that there had been 169 traffic accidents in the area. We also managed to get one of them on camera.
