They seem to have done quite a lot to the standard car, but the acceleration numbers don't seem to be that great in relation to the power and torque that it has. No excuse about not having grip either. I also wonder whether they've managed to do something about the Scooby's notorious understeer at the limit.

Nice lookin car for sure, and definately very nice of them to do this in memory of Richard.
shame the performance isnt mind blowing,as seen with that litchfield impreza, for 10k more they got nearly 100hp more and probably better handling.subaru need to start doing this themselves as they always seem to stick around the same power figures, and with the increase in weight the slight power isnt helping much.
with these special edition imprezas they need to make it more special performance wise,it could be £35k....£40K....£45k.....it would still sell, special edition imprezas always do

Seeing as prodrive have had a finger in the suspension pie i'd say yes. Even if they havent, im betting those bilstiens are adjustable, so have a tinker yourself!!

That's right - an Impreza with a similar performance as the Lancer FQ-360, even if it's a overpriced limited special edition, would be sold out in minutes!
Subaru really needs a car over the current STi - I'm sure Prodrive offers performance packages that increases the power figures... but they don't sell a completed 'hardcore' car as Mitsubishi does. You have to go to Litchfield to get them...
|
exactly.i mean subaru have the WRX,STI,STI Spec C and isnt there a new one called the Spec D or sumthin.but again those figures are still below 300 as i think the STI still comes with just 280hp.which if you dont buy the prodrive pack, the performance wouldnt be all that great acceleration wise, were as mitsubishi have what........6 versions of the evo 8 ranging from 260hp up to the special 400hp,even the evo 9 has i think 4 versions.the FQ400 was a limited edition and expensive for an evo...but as i said it still sold, just like an impreza would.
i really wanna see subaru build some hardcore imprezas, maybe not even special editions, but some coming stock with 340-350hp,if they dont i still stick to what i always say that the best one to buy is a WRX,maybe even a second hand WRX and modify it yourself.

No thats definately true. I didn't understand it completely, I thought he meant a high performance Impreza, not a LE model.
So what we need is a Impreza thats a LE 8)

^^^ i suppose i mean both really, lol a limited edition or a regular, even an STI coming with 340hp stock would be a step forward in this day and age with increasing weight of cars, look at this RB320...which is an STI with the PPP,why cant they just have that power on a stock STI,lol

at the end of the day for 40k litchfield sell brand new an STI with 415hp....why cant subaru themselves do that
all the special edition imprezas have looked fantastic,RB5.22B,P1 and WR1,all of them looks wise are fantastic and look a lot different than the year of model they are based on,even this RB320.
but reading here in evo magazine....this is what i mean...
Impreza 22B.....made in 1998-1999......276hp and weighing 1270kg
now the later year special edition..
Impreza WR1......made in 2004-2005........316hp and weighing 1470kg
40hp more than the older impreza but weighing 200kg more, therefore in straight line it isnt any faster,in fact the 22B faster 0-60 and same 0-100.
