Default First cars to use Automated Cruise Control (ACC) systems?

I'm performing a research project on Automted Cruise Control systems, according to Wikipedia those systems were first used in Japan duirng the 90s. I've googled for the cars first used, but had no luck so far. Its been first introduced to the US in the last gerenation S-Class, and now features Stop and Roll features in the current S-Class. I'm also looking for block diagrams on the how the system works, I have found some useful sources, but I'm hoping there are other that could be of use. If you know any please do not hesitate with sharing the info. Thank you.
