Default Pininfarina Rolls-Royce Hyperion

With the Hyperion concept, based on the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe, Pininfarina once again demonstrates its creativity and ability to interpret the different requests of the automotive industry.

The great motorcars of the past served as inspiration for this project, and the dimensions, proportions and elegant lines of the Hyperion create an atmosphere of timelessness. All of the mechanical and technical components of the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe remain unmodified, but the driving position and the windscreen have been moved backward 400 mm, transforming the car into a wild two-seater. Elegant lines flow down the bodys exterior flanks, narrowing to the rear, thereby creating a strong visual connection with the elegant shapes of famous speedboats.

In addition to the standard rear boot, a new storage area has been created in front of the windscreen where the owner can keep specially built sporting guns. Another remarkable option on the car is its internal watch, specially designed by Girard-Perregaux and based on the Tourbillon Vintage 1945. This watch can be removed from its bracelet and clipped in the center of the dashboarda unique feature designed and engineered exclusively for the Pininfarina Special Project Division.
Somehow not as elegant as I hoped.

Hhmmmm it doesn't look like a Rolls...
That clip-on watch seems too much Transformer toys inspiration.
It doesn't convince me yet.

It looks like a spaceship. Not Pininfarina's best.

No, of course not. But since Ferrari is Pininfarina's main customer, I expect better. Or does Ferrari dictate the designs these days? It almost seems like it. No company that's created the P4/5, the Quattroporte, the Birdcage, and the Gran Turismo could have possibly designed the California like that willingly.

Wouldn't be surprised if the California will grow on you The 430 / 599 did on me anyway. Pininfarina seem to be designing for just about everybody these days..

I think the California with the top up actually looks half decent in photos (Im sure it would look better in a decent color too). I hear it looks better in person. But I dunno...just doesnt look right too me with the top down

I'm still having a hard time digesting the 599. The 430 is on the "okay" level since the proportions are identical to the 360.
