Offset

Anybody can explain how wheel offset is to me? I mean I know the concept that the offset is a measurement from the center to the hub mounting but I don't understand when they said +..mm or -...mm thing.

Wheel offset is the amount of change from the center of the wheel.

A wheel with 0 offset has the car bolt to the center of the wheel. As you deviate from the center of the wheel, the offset either raises or lowers.

As your car bolts further to the outside rim of the wheel, you get more negative offset. As your car bolts more the rear side of the wheel, you get more positive offset. FWD cars normally have a negative offset. RWD cars can usually run a zero or even positive offset to get that big "lip" on the rim of the wheel. Although most FWD cars can run a wheel with some lip, it'll never be like a RWD car, unless you go widebody on the FWD car.
