Bentley continental GT
I was just wondering what you guys thought of the bentley continental GT in looks and general performance. I initially liked the cars looks and concept, though now i am not so sure. I personally think it looks far too much like a volkswagen in both cabin, exterior and engineering. I particularly dislike the nose of the car which is looks just like a volswagen sort of nose. Just wandering what u guys think

Hell, I think its a kick-ass car. For a long drive, it really must be good. But I would probably rather have the much more classic Arnage. Or, even better, I'd have both. :fadein:

Well, the styling is gr8, it has a similair design to the old Bentleys. I don't see any Volkswagen 'intervention'. And the interior is cool using only top quality materials. 550BHP ain't bad either, or is it?? I've heard that the only problem is the steering- it feels like a truck (well it must since it weighs over 2 tons). As 'nejcdolinsek' said, it is a perfect car for travelling long distances.

Some pictures.
I like it! It was important to keep the grill to show that it is a Bentley. They have made it more modern and aerodynamic without changing it too much. I don't see much VW in it, but I haven't been following the latest VW concepts.
The performance looks good too. 0-100km/h under 5sec and top speed over 290km/h should be enough Is 4wd a good idea? I'm not sure myself...

The styling fails to excite me, in any case, and it looks, from certain angles dare i say it, rather bland.
Being Germanic in manufacturing, I;m sure its full of top class engineering and materials. It seems to lack character, though, and could easily have been a rebodied Phaeton (which, I think, it basically is). Stick a VW badge on it, and no one would be none the wiser.
WOuld I buy one? No. Is it any good? Yes it is, what with a W12, 550Bhp and a large price tag. Does anyoen notice the little kink in the C-Pillar and glass? Reeks of BMW-ishness to me.

I personally think it looks like shit! The interios is VERY nice, but the exterior looks like crap. It's just too daft for a car of that money. I would buy a SL55 AMG instead (if going for a GT). I am saying I don't like it even after I've seen it in person a week ago at the Canadian Auto Show.

It has that strong English presence that a lot of the cars such as the Aston Martin's and Jaguars do. Would you guys that don't like it prefer the car to have a less aerodynamic front end, maybe have a more aggressive look to it? But I guess the folks that pays their bills prefer not to have that. I really like the bottom picture showing off it's rear flanks. It has a little bit of the Arnage look to it.

I think JC summed it up perfectly "It's all a bit under whelming, not as special as you might imagine for a 110,000 pounds. ...We can all remember the Arnage, its still being made...thing is though, that was a bad car that was exciting, this is a good car that isn't."
In addition, I don't think I could stand owning a car with the nameplate that has become status quo car for rap stars and such people. Not my favorite car, no manual, AWD, and porky.
