George Michael retires to the internet
"George Michael has gone through a few changes. In the early '80s it was "Choose Life" t-shirts and a squeaky clean image in the pop group Wham, by the late '80s it was the sexual bravado of Faith, by the '90s it was homosexuality in public restrooms and in the 21st century he'll soon be just pixels on a screen and music on your computer. Michael has announced his retirement from the music biz, claiming his soon-to-be released album, Patience will be his last...last available at stores that is.
Michael says that from now on he'll release songs on his Web site for free with an option to make a donation for downloading the tune. All proceeds will be given to charity. Michael goes on to state that he has more than enough money and has no need to get more from the public for any future songs.
Wow. While I've never been crazy about his music, that's got to be about the coolest thing I've ever heard of. A person who doesn't want any more money? That's got to be a first. That's retiring with class."
Wow. I really agree that George Michael's intentions are cool!
