Next RS6 is to have a Lambo engine
Just read about it, don't know if you guys know or not, it is supposed to have the v-10 from the Gallardo, but it is to be de-tuned, but i don't think if the new m5 will but out 500hp then the RS6 should put out the same. they will also offer a S6 that will have the v-8 from the A8 i belive.

Yes it was written in many magazine and websites already.. of course sounds interesting, but every time I hear about this rush toward the 1000 hp into saloons and 500 into hot hatches, I'm someway scared...

naturally aspirated RS6?!! i dont see a problem with sharing superb engines within an auto group..... just look at the viper engine in the truck (if you like friggin fast trucks) and the 330 cid truck engine in the Ford GT

Put the Engine of the Gallardo without detuning , then a badge in the back , "powered by lamborghini" , that will sell a lot of copies of the car , i remember a lancia who had a 3.2 Liter Ferrari engine from the 328 i guess

The Viper engine originally came from the truck; I just see it as things coming full circle.

I read that new RS6 will have 499 HP with V-10 of Gallardo, right...
That's impressive... the sound will be incredible
. . . anyway I'd rather an M5

I personaly am not quite sure why they have to put a V10
in the RS6. What's wrong with the current engine, I heard
it was a dream to use. Besides, though I don't know for sure,
I have heard that V10 will be a lot hevier and I heard
that it will also have a heavier transmition, isn't that kind of
going to cancel out the horsepower increase? And they are
trying to improve the front heavy weight balance, putting a
heavier engine and transmition in the car is not going to help
that, Even if they are going to be back further due to the
longitudinal mounting of the transmision.

HPA Motorsport already makes a VW Beetle with 500HP.
It does 0-60 in 3.2 second. They say it does great with
500HP, I personaly couldn't imagine that.

makes no difference how the fast the Beetle is in the end, though, cuz its ugly and shit same reason the Cayenne is hated upon, its a very capable vehicle, but its ugly.

I've also read that the new RS6 will have a biturbo V8 again with around 500 hp, which would seem likely considering if you chip the current model, power bumps up to about 500. If they put in the Gallardo V10 and detune it like everyone is speculating... it won't be any more powerful than the current model. If they do leave the biturbo V8 behind i sure hope they don't detune the v10! And if they don't......

well i think they might be moving away from turbos right now, the new supercar won't have them, as well as the A8 doesn't have it nore did the new the RS4. but the good thing about the v-10 no lag , and i think they won't de-tune it if bmw sticks with the rumors of 500-510hp from the new m5 unit, the bmw is lighter so the RS6 might get the full 500 mayb even more

I think that they could get 500 HP out of the V8 without
turbocharging. And even if they did have to use turbos,
these days technology has improved turbo lag to the
point that it almost doesn't exist anymore. Don't get me
wrong, I don't have anything against them puting a V10
in it, I just don't see the reason for it. But anyways, my
argument probably breaks down somewheres.

Why shouldn't they? I get a little confused when I
here things like this. I mean perhaps, Ferrari shouldn't
compete with Audi, that might cheapen its name, but
I don't see anything wrong with a company coming out
with a car that is a little above it's typical price range,
other than the fact that they may not sell enough to make
a profit, but that's their problem not mine.
