Ok so there is this guy at work that i am pretty good friends with. He will sell me his 95 integra with a good suspension on it, the b18c5 motor(type R), that has cams and a few other bolt ons. It also has the japanese front end. I drove the car. Its just as fast as my car, if not faster, handles better, and is fun to drive(reving to 8600 )

The reason i want it is because im more into road racing/lapping/autoxing now. And i need a car that handles well. Another reason i want this car is because he will sell it to me for only 5000!!! I still owe 2000 on my car. So if i can sell my car for 7000 with everything its got on it(which i think i can) then no more PAYMENTS!! I would save 300 a month, thats gas/insurance/payments. It also has 45,000 less miles then my car. I cant decide what to do. I might cry watching someone else drive my car away knowing its not coming back. I might cry also knowing i own a honda!!! But i like driving it. And i think it would better for me right now at least. Until i can afford a Z06 of Ford GT

PS my car is a 95 Mustang GT, It has 225rwhp. A few suspension mods, and a few other bolt ons. I love how it sounds and i love the tq. But the handling is not up to my needs. It will cost mucho money to get it handle up to par.

Mmmmm .... the integra is a gr8 car , i would change it for the integra just cuz i dont like the Mustang GT looks , you have more info about the integra ? HP , mods , mileage ?

Assuming you live in North America I would say: keep your Mustang.
It will be a lot easier and cheaper to get replacement parts and upgraded parts for your Mustang. And every mechanic will probabely know how to repair a Mustang.
And ask yourself the question: why does you 'friend" really want to dump his Integra.

sell the mustang as i do not really like them only the 67's or the Shelby's and also the B18 motor is a fine motor it wouldnt be a hard choice for me i'd sell the mustang buy the Integra. (Too bad not a REAL Type R)

Thats funny cus I have a 95 gt and I know integra's handle better but if you know how to mod the mustang suspension just right it will always beat the integra...although if you want cheap thrills go with the teg

I'd say sell your 'stang and get the Integra. With the increasing gas prices here in the US (im assuming you live in the US), it would be good to get the Integra cause of its much much better mileage, but more importantly for some other reasons:

it's smaller and lighter, so it would be easier to get it to handle and brake REALLY well (especially on an autox circuit), it's probably more reliable in the long run (being a very well-known Japanese car), maintenance costs, as far as i know, are gonna be about the same, if not less because of the lower complexity of the motor, and finally insurance will be lower.

of course, if you ever visit the drag strip, the Integra would be a bit harder to get prefect times cause it's front drive...which brings up another good point:

being front drive, and decently powerful, you're gonna want to get a really good suspension setup and a limited-slip differential, to help with the torque-steer (and at-the-limit grip levels). This is especially true if you decide to get serious with the motor and really up its power output.

tagging along to that point, assuming you do get 7k for your car, and you do buy the Integra for 5k, that leaves you with 2k to play with...to put into the motor, brakes, suspension, wheels, tires, whatever.

about every mechanic in the US will be able to fix a Honda/Acura as well

Japanese cars aren't exactly a new thing here in the States, and I'd be really surprised if you find some shops that can't fix a Honda, cuz Japanese cars are pretty much as common as American-made cars.

i'd say go with the Integra, but i'm not a fan of Fords so that opinion might be biased

I doubt that you can make a Mustang outhandle a Integra without spending too much money on it. It's too heavy to have any chance. If you need handling you should go for the Honda. I also think the Honda is much more reliable than the Ford.

Get rid of any US prejudice you might have and you'll be fine!

get the integra..
parts arent really an issue. us counters will carry japan market stuff.. u just need to know what u are looking for.

gas is raising, the little i4 will save your wallet in the long run under normal driving.

i am going ot get flamed for saying this, but the integra is much more reliable than the ford. backed up with plethora of reviews.

Keep the Mustang, drop in a turbo the size of a barn door, and own every Integra out there.

All jokes aside, I think you can esaily mod the rustang to own the Integra...even in the bends....easily meaning a few grand. :roll:

Its a tough choice. I think the big thing comes down to the money thing. And how much it will cost me for the mustang to handle good. I know the motor has more potential. But heads/cam/intake package for the mustang will run me 2500 about. Then id have to spend another 3000 to get it to handle good. Where as the integra already handles well with its bilstien shocks and H&R springs. Id probably go with coilovers few next track season. I know i want to leave the Teg n/a. So ill probably just add a header, some sort of intake and maybe port the head later on since its already got cams. I think ill most likely go with the teg. I have a track day/lapping day on sunday with the mustang. That will also help me decide, eventhough ive lapped with it before. I have the Eibach Pro-kit on it, and bilstein shocks. So its a little better then stock.

Kablookie, it already has an Limited slip(teg). The stock ITR tranny has one. Also the mustang engine isnt complex, its just a pushrod motor. The VTEC B18c5 is way more complex and expensive. Id be cofident rebuilding the whole 5.0l, not the honda though.

Its not an simple choice... But if you are from europe i think the mustang its better because its a rare car... If you like to be looked of course...
If you are only looking for a god car in terms of handling and engine the Integra... I have a friend that onws one... its really great...
