yeh there was a massive power outage, aparantley one power station provies power 2 5 states, and some of canada - bs!

i think it was caused by the electric feild of a low flying UFO, cuz it has happend before, and power stations have counter measures not to be affected by lighting strikes

Compared to what you've experianced I think mine is worse than yours. A few years ago, the powerplant at my place didn't work and the whole city didn't have power for more than 24 hours.

Yeah I live in Toronto and the power went out right when I started doing a virus check for my comp. Its funny how Canada is blaming the US and the US is blaming Canada. Every radio station is talking about it and I HAVE TO FRIGIN CABLE :x. Public transit isnt working, Go trains say that there is a computer problem, no subway. All of the street lights were out. I live beside a somewhat busy street and the traffic was backed up for atleast a kilometer. Yey..........

According to the news, lightning het the power plant and started a fire. Which knocked down the grid.
For all you people saying it's only a power outage, it's not a big deal. Heh, in New York City, there are 16 million people! These people were walking down the Brooklyn Bridge, they were trapped in Subways and elevators!
It screwed up numerous TV stations. Of course it's gonna be news, this doesn't happen very often.

I have been without power for 20 hours, that's long time without downloading any car vids, LOL. No, really, it is. Everything from the Manitoba to the Quebec border in Canada was gone, about 10 million people and then in the U.S., it was massive, as Detroit, Albany, New York City, Cleveland, and many other cities totally about another 40 million people are without power. It is the biggest blackout ever in North America. The power companies are so stupid, I didn't realize that they didn't have an automatic cutoff grid, so that this wouldn't happen, oh well, learn from your mistakes and just don't repeat them.
