Default The next Audi RS6 will not have a V10 engine but a V8.

The next Audi RS6 due out in 2006, will not have the V10 engine from the Lambo Gallardo but the V8 4.2L FSI biturbo engine. The power is rate at 500bhp and 480 lb ft of torque. At this moment this news is not confirmed by Audi Quattro GmbH. Thus, if the BMW E60 M5 possesses equally 500BHP the battle between these two beasts promises to be ferocious !

it has to be a wago...

by the sounds of it it will be one mean car, personaly all along i thought it was stupid they where going to use the lambo engine in it, because IMO it should remain exclusive to the lambo only.

that was also the reason that the audi lemans doesen't have the gallarado engine in it.

also in a recient test by "motor" magazine, the rs6 was faster than the gallarado!

(only by a very very small fraction i must note)

Thanks possessed_beaver for this fantastic info.

The performances of the current Audi RS6 will always impress me. 8)

huge wheels. I love the way the audis are going these days. I wonder if it's gonna be a hit, RS audis don't sell as well as their M and AMG counterparts.

The current RS 6 are a awsome machine and the next one will be even better, I have to say I am a fan of evolution......
But, are you disappointed Brembo that the next RS6 is not V10?

Fortunately the next one RS6 goes remained turbocharched, this is a good news for the next one RS4.

Now they changed everything, they were always saying that they were no longer going to be using turbochargers and that thay were now going for high revving medium capacity engines.

Not that I think this is bad but maybe it will be a V10

Guess we´ll have to wait

For my part, I believe that the capacity of the V8 4.2L biturbo of 500bhp is sufficient against the competition. The RS6 must remain turbocharged, this is easier for modifications.

As I see it turbo charged engines gives you boost, N/A engines just suck.....
I like the sprouted of adrenaline that you can obtain with a very high boost turbocharged cars.

If the RS4 should still kick the M3`s ass in every aspect they should stick with the twin turbo V8.....
I hope that the future RS4 will be V8 biturbo, at this moment several information circulate about a 4.2L V8 40V N/A - 420 bhp (Not confirmed). Please Audi Quattro GmbH keep the RS line turbocharged !

We need to wait for 3 more years at least!!!

Till that time a lot will happen with the new A6!

Avant, coupe, convertible, S6 and then the RS6 will come!

But I'm sure it will have a unique engine!!!

maybe not JUST a turbo but a TWIN TURBO wow that would run fast but since it is a sedan it ruins the sleeper part of the RS6 Wagon so that is a bit off but still is fast AND has a lot of practicality and still you see everyone in these Civics and they think they could blow the doors off the RS6 thinkiing its an All Road Quattro but its not! 8)
