Default Some of Ford is getting things right

They made a billion dollars in Europe, not too suprised, the models they have been buildiong for the last few years have all been pretty appealing, loving the new Fiesta

The Fiesta has done well in sales in Australia, but the Focus is losing ground. Not sure why. It looks good, has a decent powerplant, decent chassis and is sharply priced.

AFAIK they've typically done well in Europe. Didn't know this well though, time for Ford to get back into F1!

I agree Ford makes some cool cars in europe. I really liked the focus when they first brought it over to the US. The new Mondeo is a great looking car as well.

Id be much more inclined to buy this

than this

What is the car on the bottom? The Ford Contour? The Ford Mondeo has been highly rated, but is up against the Mazda 6, so it has a tough fight on its hands.

The bottom car is a Ford Fusion, U.S. market, there's a hybrid version of it too I think. When comparing the Mazda 6 to the Mondeo remember that they are both Fords under the skin, although the 6 is based on the previous Mondeo platform.

Ford is doing it right. It's doing much better than GM and Chrysler thanks to biting the bullet earlier on.

Nope. Mazda 6 isn't based on the Mondeo. Nor is the new one. But the Fusion is based on the 6 though. Both generations of them.

I really like the new Fusion.

Whoops, you're wrong, the newest Mazda 6 is based on the previous generation Ford Mondeo platform.

I havn't driven a U.S. fusion but I don't like the looks, although it's slightly less embarassing than the Fusion we had in Yerp, a high roofed fiesta basically.

Hmmmmmm... I don't really know much about how close the old Mondeo platform and the CD3 is.

your information is only partially right, the skate is from the mondeo, but this whole thing was a mazda design, nothing and I mean nothing, interior or power train wise is similar between the 2 cars, the 6 has had much more time for R&D, much more care, so the only things akin between the 2 is wheel base and length, I don't think you can honestly compare the body or performance of both cars, they are 2 completely different animals and if I say so myself the 6 is quite a bit more 3 wheeling, tail happy than the fusion or mondeo are, not to mention a better value for your money, the new 6 is gonna look good and distinct 10 years from now, just like the current Rx8, nothing looks like it on the road, even 6 years after its original release

I am not biased towards mazda really, just that our cars have that you know... zoom zoom

Annoyingly though, no one has noted the '10 refresh yet.
